For several weeks now, the Swisscom community center tells me that my DSL router is inaccessible, WLAN is turned off, please turn on the router.
The router is turned on. WLAN is on and in use by a number of devices in my home. However, the cabled internet access (my PC to the router) no longer works; I have "unidentified network" and no access with Windows 7. (I had to install a WLAN adapter on my PC to get back to the internet!).
Anyone else seeing anything like this? Or even better, have a solution?
Best regards,
Jim

Hi Jim,
Did you try to reset your router?
There is a little hole at the back of the router, with a pen or pencil, you'll need to press 15 seconds in this hole.
You'll see the DSL light coming red and then white again. Could take few minutes to have the connection back... If you still get trouble after the reset the problem is maybe the router. In this case, the best is to call the hotline 0800 800 800
Hope I could help!

Hello,
Thanks for your reply. No I have not done that; it seems like a good suggestion.
I'm a bit cautious however: for the moment, at least the TV and WLAN are working correctly. I'm concerned that if I reset, the factory settings will be reapplied, and if Swisscom is not able to connect to the router to install the normal configuration then I could lose the services that are working now.
What do you think?
Best regards,
Jim

Hi Jim,
With the reset, the factory settings will be reapplied. Normally the reset improve the connection and solve many problems. But if the service won’t work after the reset, there is for sure a trouble with the router and Swisscom will probably change it. Maybe you should call them ![]()
Kind regards.
