My Swisscom TV always pauses after about 8 seconds, any ideas why? It is perfect for those 8 seconds then... nothing. It is connected through LAN cable to a non swisscom router which is connected by powerline LAN to the actual Swisscom router.

Your router seems to be not capable to handle the multicast traffic that swisscom tv needs.
Which router do you have and how did you configure the connection to the swisscom router?

It is a Zyxel, probably P660HN-F1. I was using with Sunrise contract and I just hooked it up and stopped it working as a DHCP. Actually, I feared that was the issue. ![]()

You Swisscom TV box isn't getting the Multicast streams, possible the router hasn't IGMP proxy enabled, test a cable connected directly (no Powerline or wireless bridge) and see if that resolves it.
Google around for IGMP multicast routing etc.. + the router model number ( P660HN-F1) and you should be able to find a solution ![]()
.. you can still survive watching on VOD's ![]()
.. btw. Welcome to the Forum. shouldnt this thread be in TV forum?

the zyxel router is in bridge mode and igmp is enabled?
Why don't you simply use the swisscom router instead of this special constellation?

I have the very same issue on my second Swisscom box which...because it is distant from the swisscom router...has a network adapter (Netgear). This has worked well in the past but now I get the 10 secs of picture and that is that. I have borrowed other adapters/range extenders to see if that is the problem but nope...no change. Have also checked out WiFi signal and it is stong with minimal interference from other local signals. Help! or 2nd box goes back!

Two floors needs two routers and it is way better for me to have the Swisscom upstairs... oh, well

I have exactly the same problem after having Swisscom TV activated this morning. I checked all the channels and they play for exactly 8 seconds before stopping and a message popping up saying network connection lost.
Thanks for the tips above, i now suspect that the connection i have is preventing the multi cast:
Swisscom TV > Sonos (includes switch) > Apple Airport > Swisscom Router.
The reason for the connection to the Sonos is that i only have a single cable connection running into the living room.
I guess this evening I will be testing a couple of items:
Thanks for the heads up ![]()
